On October 2, 2025, Dr. Amr El-Wardany, Secretary of Fatwa and Director of Training at Dar Al-Iftaa Al-Masriya, representing His Eminence the Grand Mufti of Egypt, graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest. In his speech, Dr. Al-Wardani emphasized the ways in which terrorists exploit religion, politics, and society to serve their agendas, calling for collective action to eradicate extremism. He pointed to Egypt's own experience in confronting terrorism, highlighting the efforts of institutions such as Dar Al-Iftaa in countering extremist ideologies and promoting values of peace.

For his part, Suresh K. He also reaffirmed India's principled position on Palestine, recalling that India was among the first non-Arab countries to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization in the 1970s, as well as the State of Palestine in 1988.

The Indian Ambassador explained that India has been a steadfast partner in providing development and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people, both bilaterally and through contributions to UNRWA, with this development assistance amounting to approximately $170 million over the years. He also highlighted the close and ongoing cooperation between India and Egypt in combating terrorism and extremism.

Former Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohamed El-Orabi and former Egyptian Ambassador to India Mohamed Hegazy spoke about the values of Mahatma Gandhi and the urgent need to reject violence and extremism.
