Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Mahishini Colonne, highlighted significant opportunities to deepen India–Sri Lanka cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare technologies, investment, and resilient supply chains. Speaking at the Ambassadors’ Conference in New Delhi, she emphasised Sri Lanka’s growing focus on pharmaceutical manufacturing and invited Indian companies to explore investment and partnership opportunities across the pharmaceutical value chain.

The Embassy of India in Egypt, in association with, the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council (ISEPC), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is organizing a Two-Day Silk Exhibition-cum-Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) on 24-25 August 2026 in Cairo.

Reddy, the showcase highlighted India’s tea culture, hospitality, and role as a major producer, while promoting cultural exchange and strengthening India–Egypt people-to-people ties.

India is set to host the fourth India-Africa Forum Summit this year, where leaders and representatives from across the African continent will convene to launch a new chapter in one of the most enduring, long-standing, and dynamic partnerships in the Global South.

Egypt’s Ambassador to India, Kamel Galal, met with Shashi Tharoor in New Delhi to discuss strengthening Egypt–India relations, with a special focus on enhancing parliamentary cooperation and communication. Both sides reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the two countries and exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

On 3 March 2026, New Delhi witnessed a vibrant celebration of culture and international friendship as Vivek Aggarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture (India), inaugurated the Global Dance Overture: Indo-Russian Cultural Evening at the iconic Kamani Auditorium.

On February 4, 2026, Sri Lanka celebrated its 78th Independence Day in New Delhi with sombre religious ceremonies, a ceremonial flag raising, and a packed National Day Reception that demonstrated the resurgence of India-Sri Lanka relations.
