India celebrated International Tea Day in Cairo at an FAO-hosted event, showcasing its rich tea heritage through the Embassy of India. Visitors enjoyed freshly brewed Masala Chai and explored varieties like Assam, Darjeeling, Nilgiri, and Kashmiri Kahwa. Led by Ambassador Suresh K. Reddy, the showcase highlighted India’s tea culture, hospitality, and role as a major producer, while promoting cultural exchange and strengthening India–Egypt people-to-people ties.

India is set to host the fourth India-Africa Forum Summit this year, where leaders and representatives from across the African continent will convene to launch a new chapter in one of the most enduring, long-standing, and dynamic partnerships in the Global South.

Egypt’s Ambassador to India, Kamel Galal, met with Shashi Tharoor in New Delhi to discuss strengthening Egypt–India relations, with a special focus on enhancing parliamentary cooperation and communication. Both sides reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the two countries and exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
