Warm Gesture Highlights India–UAE Ties as Modi Receives Emirati President at Airport

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday personally welcomed UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the airport in New Delhi, a gesture that highlighted the close relationship between the two leaders and the growing strategic partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates.

The Emirati President arrived in the national capital on an official visit to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister’s presence at the airport reception was seen as a mark of special warmth and respect, reflecting the importance New Delhi attaches to its ties with Abu Dhabi.

Following the arrival, Sheikh Mohamed is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Modi covering a wide range of issues, including economic cooperation, investment, energy, defence collaboration, and emerging areas such as digital technology and clean energy. The discussions are also expected to focus on strengthening long-term cooperation and expanding people-to-people exchanges.

India and the UAE have significantly expanded their engagement in recent years, with cooperation extending beyond trade and energy to include infrastructure, innovation, and regional security. The visit is expected to further reinforce this momentum and provide direction for the next phase of bilateral relations.

The personal welcome at the airport set a positive tone for the visit, signalling mutual trust and a shared commitment to deepening cooperation between the two countries.
