CM Rekha Gupta Marks Green Milestone with 105 Electric Buses and New DTC Depot in Narela

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a newly constructed DTC bus depot in Sector A9, Narela, on Friday and flagged off 105 electric buses under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interchange (DEVI) initiative. This step reinforces the city’s commitment to expanding clean public transportation and enhancing last-mile connectivity across the capital.

The event saw the presence of prominent leaders, including BJP MP Yogender Chandoliya, Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh, among others.

The DEVI buses, designed to lower emissions and provide a more comfortable travel experience, form a key component of the government’s wider efforts to promote sustainable mobility.

Speaking at the event, Minister Singh highlighted the environmental significance of the move.

“Pollution has long been a serious challenge in Delhi, but this time, you’ll notice that the National Green Tribunal hasn’t had to enforce any bans. This marks a new step toward a cleaner, pollution-free Delhi. To ensure a comfortable travel experience for the public, electric buses have been introduced,” he said.

Singh also commended the rapid construction and high standards of the new depot. “This terminal was completed in just 90 days and equipped with all modern facilities. RO drinking water and a spacious EV charging station have been installed to serve drivers, conductors, and passengers alike,” he added.
