India and Uzbekistan Elevate Strategic Partnership as Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov Visits New Delhi
India and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their Strategic Partnership as H.E. Mr. Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, undertook an official visit to New Delhi from 2–5 August 2026. The visit reflects the growing momentum in bilateral relations and underscores the shared vision of both countries to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and strategic sectors.
Strengthening Political and Strategic Ties
During his visit, Foreign Minister Saidov held high-level discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, reviewing the full spectrum of bilateral relations. The talks focused on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, energy, digital technologies, healthcare, education, connectivity, and regional security. Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments, reaffirming their commitment to a stable, secure, and prosperous Central and South Asian region.
Minister Saidov also called on President Droupadi Murmu, who highlighted the enduring historical and cultural bonds between India and Uzbekistan. The meeting emphasized the importance of regular high-level engagement in unlocking new opportunities for cooperation and advancing shared developmental goals.
Boosting Economic Cooperation
A major highlight of the visit was the India–Uzbekistan Business Forum, which brought together policymakers and business leaders from both countries. Discussions centered on enhancing investment, promoting industrial partnerships, and encouraging collaboration in pharmaceuticals, information technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, and logistics.
Both sides acknowledged that stronger commercial ties and private-sector participation would play a crucial role in elevating bilateral economic relations to new heights.
