Defence Minister Rajnath Singh discuss with his Japanese counterpart emphasise the need for regional, international security situation
Japan on Monday offered full support to India in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, and both sides condemned terrorism in all its forms and emphasised the need for global cooperation in this regard. This was conveyed in the bilateral talks between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Japanese counterpart Gen Nakatani.
In his opening remarks, Mr Singh thanked the government of Japan for their strong expression of solidarity with India in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He complimented General Nakatani for his immense contribution to deepening the Indo-Japan defence relations.
“During the meeting, both sides condemned terrorism in all its forms and emphasised the need for global cooperation in this regard… The Japanese Defence Minister expressed his condolences for the tragic terrorist attack which took place in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir on April 22, 2025 and offered full support to India,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement.
