Indian Foreign Minister: Strategic Partnership with Egypt Has Seen Significant Progress Since Its Establishment in 2023

Indian External Affairs Minister and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) from Gujarat State, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, expressed his pleasure in co-chairing the inaugural round of the India-Egypt Strategic Dialogue alongside his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs.

In a post on his official Facebook page, the Indian Minister noted his appreciation for the intensified cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of the India-Egypt Strategic Partnership in 2023, stressing that the dialogue discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the political, economic, defense, maritime, and counter-terrorism fields.

He also explained that new opportunities for cooperation in the fields of startups, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, space, and financial technology (Fintech) were discussed, in addition to exchanging views on developments in the West Asia region. The Minister reiterated India's support for efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.

Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, traveled to the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Wednesday to hold the first round of the strategic dialogue between the two countries at the foreign ministerial level.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister hold several bilateral meetings with senior Indian government officials, as well as heads of major Indian companies, as part of strengthening bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries.
