India, Venezuela explore deeper economic partnership in Hyderabad House talks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, reviewing cooperation in energy, trade, investment, and critical minerals, and discussing ways to strengthen overall economic and strategic engagement between the two countries.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in energy security, including crude oil trade and long-term supply arrangements, reflecting Venezuela’s importance as a resource-rich partner and India’s growing energy requirements.
Both sides also explored new areas of engagement beyond hydrocarbons, particularly in critical minerals, mining, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and infrastructure, signaling a gradual broadening of the bilateral economic agenda.
The leaders underscored the importance of strengthening trade and investment flows and enhancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation in a changing global environment marked by supply-chain diversification and energy transition.
The Hyderabad House meeting highlighted the shared interest of India and Venezuela in building a more resilient and diversified economic partnership, with energy continuing to remain the cornerstone of bilateral relations.
