The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, met Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Qais Bin Mohammed Al Yousef and their discussions focused on boosting bilateral trade.
Goyal said that they had a productive meeting on Thursday and they also discussed about enhancing cooperation, unlocking new avenues for growth, and deepening the India-Oman economic partnership.
This productive dialogue builds on their previous meeting during the Sultan of Oman’s visit to India in December 2023. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the rapid progress on the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The negotiations are nearing completion, with just a few remaining issues to finalize.
With two rounds of negotiations in under a month, the commitment from both nations is clear. The aim is to fast-track the CEPA and cement a robust economic framework that will benefit both countries.
In a post on X, Piyush Goyal said, “Strengthening ties! Had a productive meeting with my counterpart from Oman, H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef. Discussions focused on boosting bilateral trade, enhancing cooperation, unlocking new avenues for growth, and deepening our economic partnership.”
